Family & Children
If relaxation and wellness are on the agenda, you’ll find our wonderful water park with its big water slide and various pools.
There is a sauna at the top with a view of the indoor water park. The water temperature is 29 degrees.
Campground guests: Access to the water park: 20 DKK per visit (regardless of duration). Note: Access to the water park is always included in the prices for cabins and mobile homes.
Outside guests: Water park admission: 135 DKK per visit (regardless of duration) (155 DKK in July and August, however). Special Offer: Save with a family package for 450 DKK for 4 people (550 DKK in July and August).

Let the kids have fun at Berg’s go-kart track. It’s a great way for them to burn off some energy and explore the entire grounds. It’s always a hit with kids who love to let loose with speed and excitement.

A fantastic gathering spot for the kids at the campground.
There are plenty of opportunities for children to play freely—either at the largest playground, located closest to the water park, or at the slightly smaller one, located by the small service building closest to the North Sea. These are the gathering spots for the kids, where they can let loose, make new friends, and have fun on the challenging play structures. Are the kids more into jumping? Then, of course, there’s the indispensable bouncy castle. The area is covered with fine sand, so the kids are always playing on safe ground.
And get the whole family out for some fresh air
West Jutland is a great place for anyone who loves cycling and the closeness to nature that comes with it. At www.hvidesandebike.dk (5 km from DANCAMPS North Sea), you can rent bikes, so you don’t have to bring your own.

You are by the North Sea
The fish are swimming in the sea on the other side of the dune. You can get plenty of fresh fish. Forget the vacuum-packed fillets from the supermarket. Tonight, you’re having the real deal. Pan-fried plaice. Or flounder. Or if you’re looking for something big and fancy, how about a turbot or halibut? Buy a tusk fillet, cut it into juicy 3×3 cm cubes. Skewer them on a sturdy sprig of rosemary, drizzle with olive oil, grill, and enjoy this codfish’s delicious flavor—a taste of the crustaceans it feeds on. Challenges for You and Your Race Car
The landscape of West Jutland is characterized by flat terrain and plenty of wind. The wind is the closest thing we have to mountain training in Denmark. Because if you stop pedaling, you’ll start rolling backward. In other words, you can find a major challenge on your road bike by following in Bjarne Riis’s footsteps. For example, download the “Fjorden Rundt” route—a 105-km bike race held every year. Last year, it attracted nearly 2,000 participants. Download the route via Strava here.
Travel back 1,000 years in time while you’re in Ribe
The Ribe Viking Center is a cool experience for kids and anyone who loves a good story. Come and immerse yourself in Viking life. Take part in warrior training. Strike a coin. Try your hand at archery. Grind your own flour and bake flatbread. Hammer a wooden peg into a ship. Play and have fun like a real Viking. Time flies at the Ribe Viking Center, so be sure to set aside plenty of time for your visit.
Visit Fimus and the Four White Men
The Fisheries and Maritime Museum in Esbjerg entices visitors with knowledge, fish, and seals. You can pet a fish and see virtually every species of fish that lives in Danish waters—from the flying fish to the armored wrasse. The seals are fed every day at 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. There’s a large outdoor area with old fishing boats and a nice playground. Every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., there’s “Engine Day,” when volunteers start up old engines from fishing boats.
Take a day trip to the new Lalandia in Søndervig
Here you’ll find a tropical water park with various types of pools and hot tubs, water slides, a giant tipping bucket, an observation tower, and water fountains. And for the little ones, there’s an area with baby pools and warm-water pools. Remember to book a ticket in advance on their website for a day trip to Aqua Dome.
Monky Tonky Land – is a play area for children of all ages, featuring a jungle gym, slides, ball pits, trampolines, and more.
Lalandia Center – offers restaurants and shopping. The new Lalandia in Søndervig is located just 19 km from Nordsø Camp.
REMEMBER: You can buy tickets to Lalandia at the reception desk at Nordsø Camp. The price per ticket is 255 DKK (regardless of whether it’s for a child or an adult).

Water & Beach
Go on a bunker excursion
25 km north of DANCAMPS Nordsø, you’ll find the Kryle-Ringelnatter position. It was part of the Atlantic Wall, consisting of 50 bunkers, approximately 50 other concrete structures, and several wooden buildings. From the Houvig Strand parking lot, you’ll pass an anti-aircraft gun emplacement, a radar foundation, crew bunkers, and more.
Take a Surfing Class
The Hvide Sande area is a paradise for all water lovers looking for action. Come surf—whether on a board, with the wind, or with a kite. Try water skiing or wakeboarding. Go kayaking. Choose between the calm waters of the fjord or the wild waves of the ocean. There’s something here for beginners and experienced enthusiasts alike. At DANCAMPS, we partner with West Wind. Visit them and join the world’s most fun schools: the Windsurfing, Surfing, Stand-Up Paddleboarding, or Kitesurfing School.

Visit Abeline’s Farm
Just 400 meters from the campground lies Abelines Gaard, one of the finest four-winged dune farms still standing on Holmsland Klit. Here, you can turn back the clock and slow down.
Abelines Gaard is like a time capsule where visitors of all ages can experience life by the North Sea as it was when great-grandmother was a child. Play like in the old days and help the farm folk with their daily chores, and get a glimpse into life at Holmsland from 1854 to 1957.
Explore the Wadden Sea Center and take a trip to the World Heritage Site
Politiken awarded the Wadden Sea Center 6 out of 6 possible hearts for both the building and the exhibition when the newspaper reviewed the new center, which opened on February 2, 2017. “It’s hard not to notice the facade before you even step inside,” the newspaper wrote about the thatched-roof building, whose surface resembles an animal’s fur. Here, 15 million migratory birds take center stage. That’s how many birds use the Wadden Sea each year to rest and recharge for the rest of their journey, whether heading north or south. If you have even the slightest interest in nature, birds, and education, you must experience this center. You can head out into the Wadden Sea and explore the World Heritage Site with a nature guide from the Wadden Sea Center. Give it a try and take the plunge as a Sea Explorer!
Visit the West Coast’s newest experience center
A stunning glass bridge spanning the Zhangjiajie Gorge in China, Abu Dhabi’s version of the Louvre—which cost 4.5 billion kroner—and the Blåvand Bunker Museum, Tirpitz, have one thing in common: They’re all on CNN’s list of must-see buildings. The good news for you is that Tirpitz is only a 55-minute drive from DANCAMPS North Sea. The center is brand-new and was inaugurated on June 30 of this year. Take this opportunity to experience world-class architecture and exhibitions.

Fantastic routes with varying levels of difficulty
There are great opportunities to take your mountain bike out for a ride in West Jutland. The closest option is the awesome trails in Blåbjerg Klitplantage. Three fantastic routes with varying levels of difficulty. Beautiful singletrack trails through a hilly dune landscape that alternates between open stretches and forests of conifers and a few deciduous trees. Choose between the white marathon route (13 km), the easy green route (4.3 km), and the black, challenging route (8.3 km with 145 meters of elevation gain).

Discover Bork Viking Harbor
You can travel just as far back in time with just a short trip from DANCAMPS North Sea. Do it and visit Bork Viking Harbor. Walk through the gate and step back 1,000 years in time. See the reconstructed longhouses, let the kids sail little Viking ships in the moat, dress up in Viking costumes, and more.

You’ll cycle along the coast, through forests, past fjords, and through the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
